Elevated Chicago, a collaborative initiative launched in Spring 2017, attracted more than 200 people to its first public event, a symposium on equitable transit-oriented development.
“A Catalytic Moment: The Transformational Power of Transit-Oriented Development” was held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Conference Center.
“The symposium gave us an opportunity to share with the public who we are, what we want to do, and what we have accomplished in the six months since our founding,” said Roberto Requejo, the program director who has been working with the collaborative of 18 organizations since April 2017.
The symposium featured a day of presentations given by representatives of Elevated Chicago and the four community areas, and panel discussions coordinated by key institutional partners including influencers from organizations across Chicago and the US. The result was a truly collaborative effort that included the participation not only of Elevated Chicago partners, but also of a broad network of organizations and experts.
