The area was a close-knit Englewood community and subject of a searing documentary. Has anything changed in Chicago since residents were forced out?
Pictured above posted on chicagotribune.com, Deborah Payne stands Jan. 14, 2021, near 424 W. 57th St., where her home once stood in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. She said she can always find the spot because of the electricity pole, behind her, from the rear of her house. People in the area were expelled by the Norfolk Southern Railway over the past five years as the freight company looked to expand. (Erin Hooley / Chicago Tribune)
